London Breaks

London Weekend Break review

"Just a quick message to say that we had a brilliant time in London over the weekend... We watched the fabulous Memphis on Friday and stayed at the Thistle Hotel in Euston for 2 nights, travelled back Sunday. We fitted lots into our weekend, Covent Garden, The Shard, Camden Town and the South Bank and also an evening at the Comedy Store plus lots of eating and drinking!

Thank you so much for your assistance, well organised travel, theatre and great hotel. All were perfect. We will definitely book with you in the future and recommend our weekend to everyone. Thank you all again."

Britain might be a small island but its capital is a colossus, and the principle collection point for culture, the arts, theatre , history, buskers, architecture, cockney sparrers, pomp & circumstance, pearly queens, the Monopoly board, black cabs, Buck House, exhibitions, the Tube, Eastenders, Old Father Thames, the Cutty Sark,

Visitor Oyster Card

We recommend that if you are going to be using public transport to get around you apply for a Visitor Oyster Card before you travel.

This can be done online and the card is posted in advance to your home address so you have it to hand the moment you arrive.

It allows unlimited travel on all London public transport, and the maximum amount you will have to pay to use buses, overground trains and tubes in central London (zones 1 & 2) is £6.50 per day – potentially a substantial saving compared with the total cost of individual tickets and, just as importantly, there is no time wasted queuing for a ticket every time you want to make a journey.

The card costs £3 (one–off fee), and can be pre–loaded with as much credit as you think you will need; £15–£20 is about right for three days in London.

You can keep hold of the card and top–up your credit when you return to London another time.

Please see www.visitbritainshop.com/world/london-visitor-oyster-card/ for full information.

Harrods, Nelson's Column, the Houses of Parliament, the Eye, big red buses, bridges, songs and, er, some of the world's best pubs...

Look here for a variety of breaks, either wrapped around some specific event or attraction, or just simply time in the capital, from overnight specials to week–long safaris.
